ORCHID BARK MEDIUM BLEND
by Mother Dirt Collective is an excellent choice for a wide variety of orchids such as Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, and any thick rooted orchid. This blend is designed to promote healthy strong roots with great drainage and a chunky open structure. This orchid bark potting mix is prepared for convenience and compatible with any orchid pot. It gives ideal growing conditions and is ready to use out of the bag, so you can get directly to repotting when you are ready.
Medium size assortment Orchid Bark comes from composted wood and is screened from our aged and microorganism rich activated compost. This bark makes for a wonderful orchid growing mix and has shown excellent results.
Remember- Don’t overwater your orchid. Other than that- keep an eye on the root color as your plant grows, and if the roots are light silvery-gray, give more water.
Green and plump means you are giving the correct amount of water. Generally, every 7-10 days when the mix dries out is when to water. Using a clear pot makes it pretty simple to know for sure.
If your present orchid has sphagnum around its roots, use half of it in the bottom of the new pot, and after you have completely repotted your orchid into the new pot, take the remaining sphagnum and place it on the top of the bark, it looks pretty and it will keep in a little of the moisture.
